Perinatal Mental Health

Reproductive trauma can be caused by many issues surrounding pregnancy. Women who experience reproductive trauma generally present with symptoms of anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Women who struggle with mental health issues can often see an increase in symptoms during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.

I am trained in perinatal mental health as well as trauma focused work and I also have a history of infertility.

Being able to engage in psychotherapy with a simultaneous deep personal understanding of the impact of women's health on the body and mind, I am able to connect with my clients, provide support and explore resolutions.

1 in 8 couples struggle to get and stay pregnant. Many couples would like to work with a therapist that can understand the dynamic perinatal mental health and infertility has on relationships. I am a certified divorce mediator and have worked with couples for over 15 years helping them navigate through the most difficult relationship stressors.

Perinatal women are more likely to experience mental health issues including anxiety and depression. The diagnosis of infertility, and the medical interventions often needed to treat it, represent a threat to your physical integrity, and your sense of being healthy and whole. A miscarriage or stillbirth is a loss of a loved one unlike any other you may have experienced. These reproductive events are traumas in the fullest sense of the word. I look forward to providing support and understanding while you are on your journey.
